Inspired by photographers Joe Pugliese and Melly Lee, I decided to stop by some friends’ houses and do some impromptu social distancing photoshoots during the COVID-19 pandemic. I would stand across the street or on the other side of a window and photograph them using a 55-250mm lens. This project taught me a lot: I had to figure out what angles to use to avoid window glares and I edited my photos in a style I’ve never tried before. Documenting my friends while they self-quarantined was great practice for enhancing my photojournalism skills.
